The Commission Certificate specifies the expiration date. If you hold a Limited Governmental Notary Commission, your commission does not expire until you leave qualified governmental employment. The expiration date required in the notary seal or stamp is satisfied by using the phrase “My commission expires upon office.”
Our office does not currently provide training. Our web site contains a link to the Delaware Notary law as well as answers to frequently asked questions. The Delaware Notary Handbook is available directly from the American Society of Notaries.
Effective August 1, 2023, an electronic database of notaries public was published on the State of Delaware’s Open Data portal and will be updated frequently. This allows a person to verify the authority of a notary public to perform notarial acts and will allow them to verify if the notary is approved to perform report or electronic notarization. You can access the Open Data portal here.
